Meet Mary Elizabeth
Mary Elizabeth is a Licensed Professional Counselor and the founder of MEM Counseling. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy Leadership and General Studies from the University of Mississippi before pursuing her Masters in Education at Southern Methodist University. Through the insight and wisdom of the students she taught, Mary Elizabeth ultimately completed her Masters in Education, Counselor Education, at the University of Texas. She brings over ten years of experience working with children, adults, and families in educational settings, grounding her work in thoughtful, informed, and compassionate care.
Mary Elizabeth is passionate about coming alongside clients and meeting them exactly where they are. She cherishes the opportunity to create a space where clients can slow down in a busy world and reclaim a sense of presence. She deeply values the power of the therapeutic relationship as a catalyst for healing and enjoys drawing from a variety of counseling approaches to best serve each individual. Committed to continual learning, her creativity shines through her use of play therapy, somatic therapy, and other integrative methods tailored to the unique needs of her clients.
On a more personal note, Mary Elizabeth believes in the power of therapy because she's seen its healing effects in her client's lives as well as her own. When she isn't working, you can find her spending time with her family, needlepointing, baking sourdough, gardening, or gabbing with friends.
