About

Do you feel like you're constantly anxious or overwhelmed? Like you overthink everything but still feel stuck? Like your body feels tense, restless, shut down, or like it could explode at any moment? Or maybe you're a parent watching your child or teenager struggle and wondering how to help. You don't have to navigate it alone. At MEM Counseling, Mary Elizabeth believes that every client is a person to be known, not a problem to be solved. She partners with children, adolescents, and adults to create a safe, collaborative space where healing can unfold at each person's pace. Using an integrative, trauma-informed approach, she thoughtfully tailors therapy to each client's unique needs and strengths. Whether that means incorporating somatic therapy, play therapy, creative and expressive interventions, or traditional talk therapy, Mary Elizabeth meets clients where they are and uses approaches that help them feel understood, engaged, and empowered to heal. Mary Elizabeth primarily specializes in working with children and adolescents, partnering with young people and their families to navigate anxiety, emotional challenges, life transitions, and the effects of stress and trauma. She also has advanced training in somatic therapy and play therapy, integrating body-based, creative, and developmentally appropriate approaches to meet each client where they are. Her clinical work frequently includes anxiety, trauma and PTSD, chronic stress, emotional regulation, burnout, and life transitions. Therapy is practical, collaborative, and individualized, with the goal of helping clients better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and feel more grounded, connected, and confident in their daily lives. On a more personal note, Mary Elizabeth believes deeply in the healing power of therapy because she has witnessed its impact in the lives of her clients and in her own. Outside the office, you'll likely find her spending time with family or enjoying one of her self-proclaimed "grandma" hobbies.
